| It seemed to take a little bit to receive the book after ordering it, but this book is note for note SPOT ON! Recommended for any guitar player or Dream Theater fan wanting to know the songs or just have the music. |

| The book has great physical quality, and the transcriptions are accurate. All in all an excellent purchase. |

| Be wary, I have purchased more than 140 books now from Amazon and lately they have not been shrink wrapping them in boxes and the books are ariving with dog eared corners, then the occasional one is shrink wrapped and the wrapping is so tight it is bending the corners of the books and permanently creasing them. I have found no way to notify Amazon of my dissapointment hence my review here of a book I purchased and I dread to purchase more books and have them damaged because of the hasty packing. |

The time it took to get this product was almost not even worth it. I ordered it, was told 4-14 business days....took 25.
Good thing I love this band and had transcribed a bunch of the album already, or I would've been really upset. |
Great Tablature, Poor Binding

This is the latest Album from Dream Theater, The album itself is great this book is a great translation of the music. I believe it to be 100% correct. If you are thinking of getting this book be ready to detune your guitar, only 2 of the 6 songs are in standard. The others are D tuning (1 whole step down), C tuning (Two whole steps down), and Bb tuning ( 3 whole step down), and the detuning affects all the strings not just the lowest one. The last song is written for 7 string standard tuning.
The tabs are written in standard format, and are easy to follow. Contains both the musical notation and also the tabs for those who can't read the staff to well.
The only problem I seem to be having with this book, I am not sure if it is just this one or all Alfred books, but the binding seems to be rather weak. It seems almost like the cover was just glued on. The first one I have fell away from the cover within two weeks. I got a replacement from amazon, and this one seems to be starting to fall apart. Luckily, the rest of it will stay together just no cover, so not a total loss.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Dream Theater, and all those who just want to expand their horizons. |
